ill give em a try | empire empire is actually a modern band, but they take influence from american football, sunny day real estate, christie front drive, and other emo bands and really pull it off imo.
i've never actually heard jets to brazil, but the name rings a bell....off to listen on youtoob |

so i was at a party recently and me and this girl got to talking about music. she said she liked modern emo music and was a big my chemical romance fan. normally when a girl says that to me i loose all intrest but she was kinda cute so i started showing her alot of the old emo bands on youtube. so she said "this is cool but i want to put on a song and dont look" so i didnt and it happend to be "honey, this mirror aint big enough for the both of us" off the 1st my chemical romance album. now heres where the honisty and humility starts. it actually sounded like a good old school emo song in meny ways. think old school emo with a hint of metal. kinda reminded me of early at the drive in wich alot of people tied in with the last of the old emo. so what happend was i actually brought the 1st mcr album for £1 and stuck it in the cd player and it actually made me think.
if this album was releced befor say 2001 (im not too sure of the actuall relece date of the album tbh) and they only made that album would it be considered a old school emo classic like analpabetapolothology, In/Casino/Out, diary, reapeater or many others. ok i still dislike my chemical romance ALOT for the direction they took the genrae BUT you cant deny if it was made earlyer it would have been on par with such bands of the genrae IF it was the only album they made.

Timing is, unfortunately, everything, and they went in a different direction. they could have easily went the other way and continued to produce the quasi-emo indie with emotional vocals, but they instead went the commercial route and produced what they did.
i wouldn't say that it had to be the only album they made, they just needed to continue in the direction that album was (at least apparently) trying to go. I'm on song 4 of the album, actually kinda diggin it. |

Sorry man, the music really isn't half bad but the vocals make me want to step on throats so they can't sing like that anymore. And I'm really not a violent person...
