CAPTAIN IGNORANT SAYS

I thought *sousaphone* was the proper term for *tuba*
No?

Edit: From wiki- 'A sousaphone is a type of tuba...'
NOT to say wikipedia is the last word on anything. The Bayou Brass Band had a big dude named Chuey(sp?)on Sousaphone, if I'm not mistaken. Very funky.

They're different. The Sousaphone is probably what you're thinking of when you see a marching band.

Tuba. Better sound quality. to me anyway. Sousaphone is the circular one thats used in marching bands.

I like marching band better than concert band, so sousaphone.

and yes, it is a chick magnet. I can't tell you how many hot girls have came up to me and asked if it was heavy. One of those curious girls is currently in a relationship with me.

That's a sousa, and that song is essentially the same as 'The Air Is Getting Slippery' by Primus.

Contra.

I played both Sousaphone and Concert Tuba but had the opportunity to play a contra at one of our competitions and loved every minute of it.

I went with the concert tuba cos it's playable in house easier than a sousaphone but I loved played the ol sousaphone.
Yeah great for you guys if it got you chicks, I guess a girl playing this big brass horn around scared off the guys. *sigh*

I can at least say I was Trabuco Hills High FIRST girl tuba player.
