Tune I Wrote and Recorded..Flame Away :D

Well, after losing my job back in May, I decided to get one of my Trumpets back... I need a change..

So one of the city's biggest contractors said he'd pay to get it out of the shop since I don't have the budget for it right now. I'm picking it up tomorrow!! Woo Hoo!!

Anyway, so I wrote this tune from scratch last week, played the head and out on my Flugel Horn (yuck!) - I used my Roscoe via my little practice amp, too.

He's the kicker, I played keys via usb keyboard into GarageBand - I'm HORRIBLE at keys, so just deal with it. LOL I used a drum groove from GB, too. Well, since my MBox and Protools setup is down (plus I don't like using it cause it's a PITA), I had to record via the mic on my MacBook Pro for both the Flugel and Bass. LOL

All in all, I did it anyway. I'm sure I'll arrange it differently, re-harmonize and change part of the melody (I drifted FAR from the actual melody ) at some other time, but I had a deadline for it (shut it, Pacman).

I like that ... in fact, I think it's more suited for flugelhorn than trumpet. Maybe put a little reverb on the horn?

Very nice! I'd like to hear that on trumpet as a comparision. Some parts of that would sound really great on muted trumpet, I think.

Hey!! good effort... That flugel horn sounds alright to me, no problems. Just needs a little more variety/layering in there... maybe a GB jazz guitar? Keep going with it .. great stuff.
