But if I had the following basses, Id tune them this way...
5 string: DADGC (with a hipshot for EADGC)
6 string: ADADGC (with hipshots on "A"nd "D" incase I want to go standard)
7 string: ADADGCF, ADADADG, ADADADA (with hipshots on various strings)

Oh, I almost always prefer Eb tuning to standerd on guitar too. I just write better songs in it.

You should try the one I listen, ADADGC. Its fun when playing a riff on the higher A and D strings then dropping them down an octave.

My 12 string acoustic has been in CGCGCD (C-6?) for about 3 years now. I keep finding new things in there. I can't get past it.

Also known as "Keef tuning". I like that one myself. |

When I played a fiver, I tuned DEADG most of the time. |

On guitar, I have one guitar in open D all the time. |

To me with drop tunings it's too easy to sound hollowly heavy. You have to be more creative to come up with an evil sounding bassline in standard but that's why I love it, the challenge.
Changing back to 4's from playing 5's for a long while made a big difference as well. I finally understand what Flea meant when he said, "4's are just more in your face" when referring to why he changed back to 4's from 5's.
Yeah, I said it. Flame on.

For Guitar EADGCF, easy for a bassist who plays guitar when there is no bass around only.
