I'm looking at getting a Turbo Tuner. I debating on amp-top vs. pedal tuner. I'm going to be using this for basic tuning/setups in home. I don't really play out live any more. I have a Buzz Feiten bass, but it's fretless, so that's not a huge deal, but I would like to be able to save and change presets easily.
Anyone with any input on the difference between the two? Is the amp-top easier to use? Is seeing the note on the pedal any better?
Thanks in advance for advice.

| | | | I have both. They are the same accuracy and general operation, but designed for two different applications.
The stomp box (122) is designed to sit on the floor and to be placed between your bass and amp. It has a 'true bypass' which means it will not impact your tone when turned off, or drain the battery, and it has a mute function that allows for silent tuning on the gig with the click of a footswitch. It is metal in order to stand up to being on the floor and stomped on!
The plastic model (200......comes with a nice case to protect it in your gig bag) has a tilt back stand, and is designed to sit on top of your amp and to, optimally, be run from a tuner out from an amp with a mute switch. It has a few more bells and whistles in the display screen, and also has a mic, so this model is also appropriate for acoustic instruments.
Both are great, and behave identically (fast tracking, super accurate tuning).
So, just depends on how you are going to use it... both are the same price.
Hope that helps.

The features are very clear with each and the tuning displays are the same.

I almost bought a Peterson, but I read about the awesomeness of this. I am truly looking forward to its awesomosity.

Ah, I thought the stomp was the one backordered. Cool.
It is a great pedal... less expensive than the Strobostomp, more accurate, faster tracking, higher quality build, half the size. I used a strobostomp for a while, but it was just too large, too hard to read on stage, and tracked very slowly once you got to the open E and B.
I think you will dig it, and the true bypass really is transparent.
If you haven't used a true strobe tuner before, it will take just a short while to get used to it. Since it is so accurate, if you want to get your instrument EXACTLY in tune, you have to work on it a bit, since it will indicate even if your bass is just a tiny, tiny bit out of tune. However, you will find that even if the 'strobe wheel' is still slightly rotating, your bass will be much more in tune than when the typical 'lighted dot or needle' tuner says you are in tune.
