Ugh, ebay... Why I prefer purchases with TBers

*sigh*

I have to admit this is my first big ebay issue in 7 years so I cannot complain too much.

Bought a body, was a good deal, that had a delivery time and return policy that I could check out before I left town two weeks for the holidays.

Past eight days I haven't heard from him, I message him a few times with minimal communication in return. Finally, I message him today and say 'What's up? I am going out of town tomorrow and was expecting this to be here yesterday..."

Shortly after I get tracking notification in my paypal/ebay info that basically shows that the label has been created, but not actually shipped. Crap, well I am leaving tomorrow so I won't be able to inspect it in accordance with the return policy. I open a dispute in paypal and ask that we just cancel the transaction so he can avoid the negative feedback and use it as a learning lesson about the importance of communication.

Haven't ever had a dispute so I wonder how this is going to go...

Ever have situations like this come up? What happened?

I sell a lot on Ebay. As I understand it, any return policy the seller offers begins when the item is received. That said, you should absolutely be able to return this according to whatever that policy stated. I think Paypal generally gives refunds if (1) the item is not received within a certain period of time (2) the item is not as advertised. You may have to wait to start a claim as the seller has started the shipping process. Sorry you're having this trouble....

FWIW, Ebay isn't the only venue for jerk sellers... I had one deal on TB go very wrong... jerks are everywhere....

Very true. So far things are alright. Seller admits that he has been slow but had been down with the flu. I am an understanding guy so we are just going to cancel and move on. Here's to that working out well
