retro is fantastic, but pseudo-retro can be a serious miss (although sometimes really good but not in this case). Look at this pseudo-retro job. the neck looks pretty good, but the body is pathetic. way to fail. http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-Squire-Te...3%3A1|294%3A50 |

I will do a better job for free. Give me a pack of smokes and a screwdriver!

(Edit: ^ Beat me to it)

Reliced only because it was left in a locked room with a cat that hadn't been fed in 3 days and no access to a litterbox!!
That's the only explanation I can think of for the multiple long scratches.
And whats with the cig burn in front of the decal? Is there any way a cig can be held there? Disclaimer: I'm not a smoker.

But, it is an absolute mess! What the hell was this guy thinking and what delusion does he live in if he thinks THAT looks like a vintage and distressed guitar? |

I don't think we can talk about how bad somebody else's bass looks here.
But yeah, this one makes you wonder if the guy has ever even looked at a play worn bass.

Which does explain a few things. |

And to be honest, I got so involved in looking at the random gouging I never even noticed the skinny strings. I need to be vanquished to the corner....

Seriously, didnt he ever stop to wonder how a person might have burns in those areas when he was choosing the places to burn?
Relicing a Squier?
Fenders get played, "loved", night after night by talented musicians.
Squiers get beaten to death by kids in their punk bands until they pawn them off for drug money. |

said it before...my hands don't sweat (they actually dry out fast more than anything), so me getting a maple neck nice and grimy just ain't gonna happen. |

I'd love to have a worn old bass....but only if the wear marks and the long loving relationship with the instrument were mine as well!
Otherwise, give me a nice shiny NEW instrument that looks new. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
