UK members: Great jazz on BBC TV tonight!

Just a friendly reminder that Imagine on BBC1 at 10.35 tonight is a documentary on John Coltrane. Frankly I'm amazed that some jazz is actually going to be shown on BBC1!

Imagine finishes at 11.15, so then turn over to BBC Four if you've got digital for Coltrane: The Sounds of Jazz, a 1959 performance by Coltrane, Miles Davis, and the Gil Evans Orchestra!

Yes, I liked the Miles Davis quintet playing 'So What', but it was kind of restrained and very "tame", compared to what the next quintet were about to do to the same material!!

Coltrane was a hippy!!??
