the ultimate earth-shaking bass

Sign in to disble this ad
given the myriad of options a bass can have nowadays, plus the wide range of amps, what would theoretically be the most earth-shaking rumble one can think of? would it be a P bass made of macassar ebony with TI flats thru an ampeg SVT and 8x10 cab? would it be a ric with darkstars and Labellas thru a fender 15" cab and a LMII? (not saying they are, just some examples)

i dunno, i'm not good with this techie stuff. just curious.

That's a REALLY good question...

I would imagine one of these would be involved:

...If any bassist had the cojones to build one into a cab...

The chord would have to be like a 100 feet for the bassist not to get deaf

I actually got to see one of these recently... My friend has a car audio shop and calls me in occasionally to help tune the systems, and he had a guy with a hummer wanting to stick one of those in the back.

I took one look at that thing and went, "No tunin' that, bro. Just turn it on and RUN..."

Now, imagine if someone built TWO of those subs into a box...

The cab alone would have to be made of steel to support the weight and vibration. No thanks!

I'll definately not a fan of the Jackhammer. I'm not really a fan of loudspeakers. I mean, not everyone in public likes the genre or the volume as you do.
(Just saying, not referring to anyone.)

Aw, c'mon, Bob, we're talking hypothetically here.

Sides... Wouldn't it be cool to be able to play a stadium with only one rig?

Spector or Stingray 5 through SVT VR and SVT II (non-pro) at 2 ohms each through a 4 Mesa Powerhouse 1000's 4 ohms each...that's an equvalent of 4 15" speakers and 16 10" speakers...add an overdrive for gain or a distortion pedal, and that is earth-skaing bass!

Check this out: http://www.knuckleguitarworks.com/

The Quake can be tuned 1 octave lower than a normal bass.
