Hey guys I figure I would express my current hatred for UPS. I managed to find a Hughes and Kettner BassBase 400 from a guy in Phoenix through Google and then Craigslist. This is the amp I've always wanted and I found it for a great price.
He was really cool, we get it set up through eBay then Paypal, and it gets shipped. So it was supposed to be delivered today...
it got delivered at 2:16 pm. Signed for apparently by someone with my last name. Am I in possession of it? NO.
How do I go about this? They've put out a claim on it and they're in the process of finding out what happened, but has this happened to anyone? And any advice?
Please let me know.. |

Was it insured? |

| | | | Sorry to hear what you are going through. I sell on Ebay and have shipped over 400 items using UPS without one issue. Hopefully they will make things right. I don't know all the information, but I think the big issue is that you have somebody that most likely lives by you that is signing for your package. Obviously the person that signed for it knew your name. If you live at an apartment and UPS just let somebody sign for it in the parking lot, then that is not good on their part. If the person signed for it at your actual residents then I don't know that UPS is really to blame, are they required to see ID for shipments? (I don't know, just a question)
Hopefully a family member or a friend signed for it and you will have it soon.
Good Luck and update this thread as I would like to see how it turns out..

It says my last name was signed for, which makes no damn sense. Truthfully someone could just look @ the box and be like "Oh, (last name), yea that's me"
But it says it was left @ front door, which kind of contradicts the required signature. I've read some stories online about this happening and people got it the next day..
The thing that makes me mad is that this is the amp I wanted, and I've wanted it for over a year. I finally found it for a decent price and UPS goes and screws me over. I am just hoping it's resolved by tomorrow... |

Two large boxes. The persons address where it was supposed to go was plainly written on the shippers label... Dyslexia maybe ???

The packages were correctly addressed and the house numbers at both residences are clearly displayed.
I called about it and their excuse was it's a new driver hired for the holiday season. I explained it had been going on for 6 months. That's some holiday season.

Sometimes a package gets set on the wrong doorstep, it happens. There are hundreds of packages in the truck, and they're on a schedule. I delivered one wrong once because i had two packages for two houses, and got them mixed up prior to dropping them off.
To the OP. This may seem a little complicated. If yall have gotten a package from them recently, you know you have to sign for it right. The thing you sign, transmits the data to the UPS hub for logging, ect, lets you know the package has been delivered so you can move on, ect. What the driver will do sometimes is sign for all the packages right away, then deliver them, cutting out the middle-man so-to-speak.
So the end result, in all probability is that he delivered it to the wrong house. Whether he signed off all the packages himself or straight up made a mistake. Quote:

Dyslexia maybe ??? | When we got big money items like that, my driver was a really cool guy, if they didn't require signature, he would program it in anyway just in case and always double check in the truck it was the right house. |

Not to scare you but it would be a pretty neat scam if the guy that sold you the amp had someone sign for the package and return the head to him. Money for nothing! |

When shipping, I always select the direct signature. It's a few bucks more, but I don't want the blame on my hands at all.

UPS driver delivered it to another 1805 in the neighborhood. Dunno how but it was on a diff street. The guy just brought it back. It sucks though because it was left at his garage I guess and not signed for, though it was signed for. Meh.. Im happy |

I went through a segment of time where the UPS driver kept delivering my packages to the next street over and hers to me. We have the same house number but she is on 16th ave and I am on 15th ave.
Despite repeated calls to UPS to complain it happened several times over a period of about a year. She is an Equestrian Vet and her heat sensitive medications kept getting ruined by being left on my back step.
It has not happened now for quite some time, but then I have all my UPS stuff delivered to work. And I think there is a new delivery driver...
Stuff happens and I am glad you got your Amp.
