UPS Rate Hike For 2010

2010 Rates Effective January 4, 2010*
UPS Ground Service will increase 4.9%; Air and International Services will increase a net 4.9%. The rate increase for Air and International Services is based on a 6.9% increase in the base rate and a 2% reduction in the Air and International Services fuel surcharge. Even with this change, these rates for UPS Next Day Air® remain up to 7% lower than our largest U.S. private competitor for similar services.

thats why i ship fedex. Much cheaper than UPS ive found. I shipped a bass to the east coast for $12 this week.

FED Ex ground no doubt. You have to be careful with those guys too! Each route is bid on and franchised to a driver. They are not obligated to drop your package off just because it's on their truck. They can hold onto it until they pass by your part of town and deliver it then. I had a friend that had some PA speakers on our local fedex ground truck for TWO WEEKS because the driver wasn't heading down his way. They are actually allowed to do this! I've always had pretty good luck shipping through UPS but the prices are just going crazy....
