UPS Woes

I know, it should set off all sorts of alarms when a store says they're using UPS for shipping, but I went to do it anyway. I bought some bass strings for what seemed to be fairly cheap, adding up to around $60, and after shipping, was $85. For two sets of Hard Rockin' Steels, and one set of DTF's, it was still less than JustStrings.com. After arriving, I had to pony up another $40 for their damn brokerage fee.

$125 for three sets of strings.

Well, that's my punishment for trying to save money on bass strings. I got completely sodomized on shipping.

I just needed to get that "out there". Sorry.

Well I have to just step in and say that it was your choice to buy strings from the U.S. or use a place that didn't let you receive the strings through USPS/Canada Post. Would you really have spent that much more at Just Strings?

I don't know for sure but I believe all shipping companies, or at least UPS, Fedex, and I believe DHL as well have outrageous brokerage fees so you can't really blame UPS entirely. Again, you should have known that you were going to get charged the fees. Yes it's unfair but it's not like you were forced.

That's true. I wasn't thinking at the time. I just felt the need to vent at my utter stupidity. I'm still young, what can I say.

Posts like yours will also help me in the future to avoid such frustrations again. So, thank you, as well.
