Used Bass Gear in Chicago

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got some time off work and I think I'd like to browse some used gear I don't need/can't afford/don't have room for.

Anyone know some good spots for used gear in Chicago? I know Chicago Music Exchange is supposed to be cool, but are there any more down to earth places?

Thanks

Chicago Music Exchange and Midwest Buy and Sell are the best two I've been to. The owner at CME is nicer and more likely to cut you a deal in my experience. However, they tend to have more expensive stuff to begin with. If you go to Midwest Buy and Sell check out the little old Polish guy that makes tube amps in the antique store next door. They sound pretty ridiculous.

Slight tangent - for repairs Minstrel Music is the way to go. They are slow as hell but they do great work at reasonable rates.
