Vacation in San Diego and LA

I'll be hitting the San Diego and LA areas on business trips in the next few weeks. When I get some time to kill I'll probably try to hit a few guitar stores. Any recommendations for places to go where I can possibly snag a good buy on some used equipment (basses, amps or pedals). I like to window shop through the used section at stores when I travel and have stumbled across some interesting buys in the past. So how bout it, any must see locations in San Diego or LA?

Freedom Guitar... Last time I was in there, they didn't have too much bass stuff - but you never know.

And Bass San Diego is great. Sadly, they are in rather separate parts of town...!

In LA the only place to go is The Amp Store (or at least, the only place that *I* know of !)

Oh - And SD is pretty much micro-brew beer mecca, so if you want to try some great beers, there is a TON of places... Pizza Port, Stone, SD Brew Co, Green Flash, AleSmith, etc etc etc

Let's see: 'Cincinnati, OH" huh?

Your brains will fry if you get to The Mother Ship of GC in Hollywood.

There's McCabes in Santa Monica too. ( http://www.mccabes.com/ )

Taylor, I do believe is no longer in SD, but went South to Mexico.

If you get to Anza, drop by for a beer and a steak - bring beer.
