I gave up on Van Halen long ago and become a Sammy Hagar fan. I'd gladly pay for concert tickets to see Sammy. Van Halen? I wouldn't go see 'em if you gave me free tickets.

Van Halen is a friggin' joke. Who cares? Did anyone really think
that this wouldn't happen?

People in the vein of Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen and Michael Angelo Batio (and EVH, of course) are examples of what I consider a true virtuoso.

With so much money on the table, you'd think everybody could grow up and go get it. Jeez, what a cluster flick!

Hope it's nothing serious like health issues.
Speculation is that the venues are forcing the band to re-work the contracts due to DLR insisting on having the air off during the shows. No lie. Several friends went to the VH show here in Tulsa and they said it was miserable.

Just saw them put on a great show May 11. Funny how DLR was sweating up a storm all night and had to towel off after every song.

I'd not put EVH in the virtuoso category myself. I think he's more in the vein of John Bonham/Keith Moon (drums obviously), and Hendrix, and Jeff Beck, and Chuck Berry. They play/played out of their socks. They took what was the norm at the time, and twisted it completely until it blew peoples minds. They didn't play with their brains. They played with their hearts, their guts. Those guys played with their balls!
