Had the pleasure of seeing them back in 1984 at the Monsters of Rock Concert in Germany took some awsome pics.

I saw them in Chicago in '83 and it was an awesome concert. But that was then. After all that went on in the band I hope that Mike has the common sense to keep out of it. IMO Chicken Foot is making the music that VH should have made after 5150. Mike is too much of a class act for them.

Chickenfoot rocks. Most of the time when artists get together as a hodgepodge act it stinks but Chickenfoot is setting the bar!

Roth was Van Halen’s original vocalist, performing on early hits such as Eruption and Dance the Night Away, through to their 1984 album 1984. They parted ways in 1985.
I see...

Oh yeah.....gotta love those vocals in Eruption. Excellent lyrics!! Very meaningful, especially the chorus.

The live Chickenfoot DVD is excellent. I wasn't nuts about the CD. Chickenfoot suffers from the same syndrome as VH and several other similar bands: They sound better live without all the extra guitar overdubs.

I hate VH without Michael Anthony, but Chickenfoot is sounding so good I think re-joining VH might be a step backwards for him at this point.

Besides, it's only a matter of time before he wants to punch Roth in the mouth. He's probably actually got more issues with Roth than Eddie.

On the flipside, I would LOVE to see a VH tour (w Anthony, of course) with both Roth and Hagar doing their respective songs.

I got all excited when I read "VH Reunion". Then I read it would include David Lee Roth.....jeez! I was secretly hoping it would be Gary Cherone.

This. Although I think I'd still rather see VH w/Wolfie than Van Hagar.

Was Mike Anthony ever given a reason as to why he was given the boot? Have Alex or Eddie ever given a reason as to why? The only thing I ever read was Mike saying he found out about it online and was never given a reason.

Musical differances? Personality clashes? I know there was a time when Eddie had high praise for Mike saying that he was a great bass player and there was a lot more to him than people gave credit.

What happened?

Not that Michael Anthony was a great bassist, you dont need to be a great bassist to be in Van Halen, just hold the bottom and melody lines during solos from Eddie, but the one thing that is bloated is Wolfgang. I cant wait to hear his incredible talent on the bass too.

It's not VH without Michael Anthony. High harmony vocals, appropriate bass lines...seriously, Wolfgang. That has always been a joke.

They need to just stop. We have the recordings, and that will ace to do. Dave is a complete egomaniac and Eddie has gone off the deep end.

Save us all the drama and fade away - except Mike. Keep playing with Chickenfoot.

This is not Van Halen "Reuniting" it's their orinal vocalist joining two of the other original members.

Ever since Hagar left, anything VH does reminds me of this

Although VHIII was a suckfest, Cherone was very good live. He could do all the Hagar stuff and was waaaaay better on the Roth stuff than Hagar.
