Saw 'em tonight on Jimmy Kimmel. I don't know exactly what I was expecting. Just curious I guess.

What a bunch of posers...

Why posers? You know every single one of them has been rockin' since the 80's. Three members of Guns 'N Roses, the singer from Stone Temple Pilots and another guitarist.

They're the last people I would call posers.

duff mckagan, the bassist is probably the least posiest person ever, and if he looks like he is, he DESERVES to be.

back when he was in guns n roses they released an album voted the best rock album ever.

Posers? Ya right

Slash and Duff have been in the spotlight since the 80's not mentioning they have played in one of the most successful bands ever, and look at slashes solo's. They were playing rock when everybody else was playing punk and grunge. And Duffs tone.....Amazing.

Matt Sorum joined GNR after Appetite and played with The Cult too.

Scott Weiland played in STP which were pretty successful

And Dave Kushner played in Wasted Youth in the 80's.

While I personally am not a fan of Wasted Youth and STP, I am a GNR fan and a lot of that style gets in the VR sound, this is an 80's rock band with some modern flare all the musicians have earned their respect 15 years ago.

It just sounded so harsh and screechy - must have been as painful to play as it was to listen to. Slash's solos sounded like he was strangling a cat...

That plus the general image of the band - so carefully crafted to appear badass (apparently hoping that people would trust their eyes more than their ears) that it could have been prefabricated only in L.A., with all the de rigueur rock 'n' roll grimacing and posturing in all the typically expected places, etc. etc.

It's all been done so many times before - and so much better...

Fine it has been done better before by even some of their current lineup, but they're still good and they are one of the popular newer bands left who still play actual rock. And slashes solo's are great here is a prime example from his gnr days http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUtvWvf1vq0

I personally dont think you have any idea what your talking about. They are a great band. There aren't very many good current bands, that started recently anyway....Them, and Silvertide are my favorite new bands.

That band has a great lineup with members who have been kicking rocks ass since before I was born. They dont have to worry about "appearing" badass because they have been badass since the 80s (I think '87 for the GnR crew)

It's all personal opinion, remember

I think they sound generic, but if people like them I don't have any problem with it as long as they don't try to make me look stupid or put me down for not talking them
