It was bound to happen. Velvet Revolver should just get an unknown front man who has stage presence like any of the other famous dudes out there yet is still in control. All this super group nonsense should be thrown to the curb in favor of making good music.

woah...drama. Maybe if Axl Rose wasn't such a jerk and so volatile G N' R would get back too...not very likely

Meh they'll find a better vocalist, I didn't like him much. I'm also not surprised as I read an article about tension growing. Albeit kickass band.

It's really too bad they all can't just get along. But hey, if the reincarnation of STP comes of it all...
Well, you can't have everything you know!
I like a handful of VR tunes, but I dig a whole load of STP!!

Man, I've always thought STP was an excellent outfit, and Weiland a talented singer. I also felt he was thoroughly wasted in VR, so I'm not heartbroken over this a bit...

...I'm with you Kevin, let's hope this means a reconstituted (and hopefully heroin-free Weiland) STP!

flash backs of Spinal Tap:

Which way is it to the stage? A Jog left, then a door to the right? Hey where's the singer? Man he could be anywhere down here.... He was where at soundcheck... Or was that last night?

I know that they were planning to bring back STP even when Weiland was still in Velvet Revolver, but honestly I'm surprised that the rest of STP would take him back after this. It just seems to foreshadow yet more more problems.

Yeah I think he felt confined in VR , he has a whole lot more talent that can be shared !

I dunno, I think the last Velvet Revolver record was a p.o.s....a complete turd on plastic.

And at this point, lyrically, I have to say Weiland has nothing left to say. I just kinda really feel that. Have you READ the lyrics on either VR records? Simply atrocious. A couple good phrases but no read substance.

Then again, I wanted more outta Army of Anyone. THAT record has not aged well at all, and it's not even 3 years old.

Isaw STP on the Family Values tour right before tha last time they split, and it was a real dissapointment. They did a split-set rotating stage setup with rock / acoustic split, playyed a total greatest-hits only set, almost completely ignoring Shangri-La-di-da altogether, save for HALF of "days of the week" and Coma, Weiland had a bum leg in a cast, and the rest of the guys looked apathetic.

And if I was Eric Kretz at this point, I'd tell the whole lot to f off anyway. Criminally underrespected drummer.
