Hi everybody.
As I said in
this post, my vinyl-spinning/listening habits have been reinvigorated after fixing a couple of annoying problems with my turntable. Because of those annoyances, I had stopped transferring some of my old records to digital format. Now that I'm doing it again, I'd like to hear your opinions on a restoring job. Not that I'm looking for a comparison with the direct-from-vinyl sound (as for "how effective was the restoration"), but just the overall sound quality.
Here's one track from one of my old "colombian Salsa" records, which is actually in very good shape (as most of my collection), but anyway I applied some filters to reduce clicks, crackle and background noise. Do you think the sound quality is acceptable (at least) from an audiophile perspective? There's absolutely no EQ, as the audio was captured directly from the turntable, with no EQ in-between or applied later. Aside from the filters, I applied one normalization pass (at 96%) to increase the overall output level with no clipping. No compression or any other kind of tweak.
Thank you in advance for your input!
