Vox Guitar Amp

Sign in to disble this ad
Am wondering if any of you guitar playing TB'ers have had any experience with Vox amps. I am looking for a not-too expensive amp to plug my Strat into (play blues) and have been looking into the VT100. Any advise would be appreciated.

I've heard that those AC30's with the Celestion Blues are really nice amps. I've also heard that the VT series, with the built in modelers and effects are superior to most other modeling/effects amps. Not to keen on the cheese grater grill that's on the VT's but I can learn to ignore that.

you could get the VT+ series. Has more power and doesn't have the awful metal grille, but has the typical AC30 style woven design

The Valvetronix series has some really crappy switches and jacks... They will crap out on you after a while and you will have to have them replaced. I'm not sure if the other amps in Vox's line-up have similarly crappy bits....

But the line of Valvetronix amps from a few years back did have some excellent modelling and effects built in. They sounded great even if they were built like crap.
