"Vs." threads running amok

What's the deal with all the dopey "vs." threads popping in the "Bassists" forum, the "Recordings" forum, and other non gear-related forums?

I can understand the usefulness of a comparison between Eden & SWR, or between Stingray & Bongo. There's some objective specs to cite, along with user experience, which actually serves a useful purpose.

But all these threads comparing Jaco to Wooten, or Dream Theater to Queensryche, etc. amounts to nothing but a big adolescent dorkfest, and are worse than a waste of time.

Knock it off already!
