Who has been there or is going to go. If you dont know about Wacken it is the worlds biggest heavy metal festival. Here is a little taste:

I'll be damned if I don't go to '08, what with Maiden being announced as headliners....with a set centered around my favorite era- POWERSLAVE and Seventh Son and Somewhere In Time.

Powerslave was my first metal record, years ago...and I am so stoked to own the vinyl. I gotta throw that on again.

I've beer´n there twice, unfortunately I coulln't go this year, Festival sold out before I'd got my ticket.
But I've already bought next year's ticket. Iron Maiden here I go.

It's a great festival but a bit too big for me.

If you have a chance to get them on the net and have some German, there are one or two documentaries about Wacken. One is called Full Metal Village http://www.flyingmoon.com/engl/news.html which is about the friendly relationship between villagers and metal fans, and the other one was on German TV and showed the amount of effort needed to run the festival (forgot the title).

FMV is really fun to watch, but there's hardly any concert footage in there, so don't say I didn't warn you.

If only it wasn't that far... Ehh, maybe some time in future...
