Warwick Internal Strap Locks??

Sign in to disble this ad
SO I recently bought a five string warwick neckthru off of ebay. I got the bass and everything was in working order except for an issue with the strap lock mechanisms. Instead of the usual knob that sticks off the body in the usual two spots where the strap hooks on, there is two holes with grooves half way down for something to lock into. I can't find these at any music store in my city or in surrounding areas, even Warwick dealers. I was told that companies stopped using them some years ago and they are hard to come by (my bass is a '99, so its not that old) I contacted warwick and they have yet to get back to me. The guy i bought it from says he doesn't have them, which is perculiar cause that means for as long as hes owned it he hasn't been able to gig unless he sat down...Anyway does anyone know where I can get the locking mechanisms for this? Or have some I can purchase?

Should be Dunlops. They can be purchased at any music store. They are still quite popular. You have been told incorrectly.

That's because the female part has been recessed into the wood. Trust me, it's there.

they're just flush mount dunlop straplocks...the part that goes onto the bass comes in three different styles: a rounded button that doesn't work with a regular strap, a traditional style button that works with either a strap or with the lock, and the flush mount one that you have...you can buy any of the three styles you want, install the male end on your strap and it will work...i've used dunlops for years...i just put a set on my dj5...
