I've spent many a dollar there, and many a happy afternoon. One thing I regret about moving to Frederick: it's farther away from Chuck's. My kids like to go there too, even though neither one of them plays anything at the moment.

I know, I know. I've lived in the area for about two years but I haven't really been in the market for new equipment during that time. Of course, that never stops me from dropping by the local GC every couple of months. Reading the article got me motivated, so I will do it soon.

Thanks for the article Phil. I have been going to Chucks since I was 16. I took my son there for the first time last year.
That article really describes the place. It can get down right crazy in there.
I have an old friend in there who works at the guitar counter. He's been there at least 20 years I think. He is one hell of a guitar player. If you ever need a guitar or bass ask for Todd Elliott and tell him Ed Wade sent you.

I bought my first "nice" bass there, finally replacing my Rondo-SX equivalent in the late '80s with a Peavey Dyna-Bass 5 string. The place is insane but they really do treat everyone equally and the place is a lot of fun

Chucks is a nice shop. Personally, I wouldn't buy my bass gear there...

Now I see why you haven't made it to the shop yet.
