Saw them last night at Massey Hall and I have three words for you. BLEW MY MIND. How can someone create music that so far apart but yet so close together? I mean the thing was of the wall, can Jazz get any better? The whole band did an outstanding job, Pianist Danilo Perez, Bassist John Patitucci and Drummer Brian Blade held their own. I can't find the words to explain that particular performance. I didn't know it was going to be that good, and I didn't buy a CD,thankfully the internet is here and I'm currently ordering Beyond the Sound Barrier. Was anybody else at the performance? No wonder the Weather Report was so good, Shorter is Legendary. After the performance the only thing that was going trough my mind was that there was magic involved. Some licks played sounded like they were beyond the boundaries of music. All I can say is that these guys are virtuosos, and that they love music.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I was at a gig of theirs here in Norway. Played a 55-min suite. It was mind-expanding to say the least

Saw them a few days ago in Boston at the BPC. Best show I've ever seen.

Agreed. I saw them in June at Orchestra Hall. I got a discount on my ticket since I bought it in October and I'm a staff member.

Beyond the Sound Barrier is killer, also check out the Foot Prints Live CD.

I stayed after to help out in the store [aka my job] and when I was walking down the street to catch my bus-who do I see walking the same way? BRIAN BLADE! So, I got to meet him and talk for a few minutes. Amazing player, extremely nice guy.
