| Don't you love when that happens?
(As I type here often) I had a band that did pretty well on the area level back in the late '80's and early '90's. A while back, the local university radio station was playing a song fro someone who was in our peer group, a band called Ten Hands. They were kind of friends of ours and great guys. So I called the station and said I thought it was awesome to hear Ten Hands again. The DJ started talking about how much he had loved them back in the day and how he would always hang out at three particular clubs that they played often.
All three were places we played often as well. So I asked if he remembered any other groups from that scene. He mentioned four in quick succession, and our band was the second one.
I said I played for Fuzzy Logic. He said "I loved those guys. What did you play?" I answered "Bass and vocals." He said "This is Wayne?" Wow. He knew our names and remembered from something like fifteen years ago.
I thought "I have a fan? I have a FAN!!!" and for twenty minutes or so I felt like a rock star.
And for contrast, another time that I have posted about here on TB. My daughter and I were at the mall. Two attractive women about thirty years old came up to us looking kind of shy and asked if I had been in Fuzzy Logic. When I said yes, they sort of gushed for a while about how they went and saw us a million times when they were in college and thought we were awesome, and that they thought our keyboard player was the hottest guy ever back then. After they left my (thirteen year old) daughter looked over at me and said "Admit it. You payed them to say all that so I would think you weren't always a dork."
Real life sucks when you apparently peaked at twenty eight.
