Well ive never been much of a writer of killer riffs, but today i was bored...turned up my mids and highs 100% took off bass and added some Wah and fuzz with a pedal...and i sort of played this little riff....and in half in hour i had a few cool ass things, all because of bored, whats the weirdest time you've been inspired and how did yuo benefit?

P.S Lets get some stories people

For awhile I found it easy to come up with walking bass lines while making my lunch before work.

Sometimes bass lines come from a different pattern on the drum machines, but those tend to be one or four measures long; the melodic stuff seems to happen whilst away from the instrument.

Many great bassists use wah and fuzz. Also, mids are what the audience hears the most, so there is nothing wrong with that. Unless you're joking, i which case, nevermind.
