Clinton played sax, Nixon and Roosevelt played piano. I think that's the extent of musical presidents.

well, not a bassist, but apparently Lincoln was a cage fighter:

close enough, as far as I'm concerned.

I think Taft looks like he should have been a bassplayer. As a, ahem, bassplayer of size myself, has anyone noticed that there are a disproportionate number of XL bassplayers? Does it take a large volume cabinet to get the low notes out?

I played Sousaphone in junior-high @ 125 lbs, played Tuba in high-school concert band- Sousaphone in marching band @ 130 lbs... I was always the little fart in the bass section... but I was always First Chair...

I'm not aware of any recent presidents playing bass, but there Was a musically-inclined recent president that used to like having interns play his organ.

Ba-dum bum. Pshhh.

John Kerry came through my little hick Ohio town during his campaign. Drove right past my house. Wish I would've read the paper...I slept right through it! I could've had a John Kerry autographed bass! Dang it.
