Whadda the icons actually mean

OK, I've been ALL OVER the FAQ, rules, etc. Nothing,
The icons to the far left of the sub-forum posts: some look like envelopes, cameras, other stuff.
Specifically---what do they all mean?

If I knew I would not be asking.

PS: and that checkmark on my posting title here?
