what the **** is that attached to my speaker!?!?!?!

Yeah, so I got my Peavey Combo 300 yesterday, excited as hell about it, and when I went to turn it on and play on it, it farted at me! I couldn't believe it, at nearly minimum volume the compressor was turning on and the speaker sounded as blown as a spent pornstar... "What the hell..." I think to myself and pull out the amp circuitry. Nothing wrong. So I put it back and pull out the speaker. I find in the speaker cavity what looks to me like a bag of weed with wires sticking out of it ad running directly into the speaker.

Now I'm really confused.

So I open the weed bag. Inside, I find a quarter inch input jack attached to the wires. Hmmm... I unplug it, and the amp works fine.

So tell me... why would anyone want to do this to a speaker?

it's a peavey cabnet, and a lot people don't know this...but you can also stash your weed in there
