I'd love to play with:
Dave Garabaldi - serious fun-kay!
Vinnie Colaiuta - heard him play live once and his ability to bend time while keeping the groove strong blew me away.
Mickey Hart - He has tremendous sensitivity and ability to follow (and to go to unexpected places), and I'd love to see how much of that could rub off from playing with him.

A couple of hours before the show, I got the call telling me that Walter was too sick to play (asthmatic issues) and they asked if I would play. It was a great chance to play with Nat's old bandmates. We played some of the usual Nat/Cannonball repertoire, including "Jive Samba" and "Work Song." Yep, I was floating on air for a few days after that. |
