Right now I'm subscribed to Guitar World's Bass Guitar and I highly recommend it.

Since this isn't about a bass, it is being moved to Miscellaneous.

I am a Guitar Player reader from way back, until Bass Player started.

I read Bass Player until I tired of it back in 99.

Discovered bass forums on usenet in 98, and Talkbass in 2000. Haven't need a mag since.

I subscribe to "Double Bassist" magazine and it's the only one I read regularly now.

Although I might look at Bass player if they have an article on a Jazz player...?

I read bass player from 92-95, when I was in high school. I'd like to say the lessons were valuable, because they had some real heavy hitters doing the columns as I remember, but mostly I think I really enjoyed, at the time, reading about famous people talk about playing bass in bands. There isn't much in the magazines that interests me now.

If you haven't you should check out Bassics. Although not as regular as BP - each issue comes with an enhanced CD. Every artist profiled is represented on the CD. Plus some of the lesson articles are in video form as ewll as in the mag. Lessons columnists include Carol Kaye, Jimmy Haslip and some other guy who does some solo bass stuff, hmmm ... what's his name?

anyway, here's a link

Here, here.

I'm a jazzer and subscribe to BP but generally only get a little out of it. I could (personally) care less about most of the rock bassists featured in there (Geddy not withstanding), but the few interviews with great jazz and/or funk players like Steve Swallow, Mike Pope, Bootsy, Jimmy Haslip (trying to remember what others I've read) etc. are well worth the subscription cost.
