What bass was used for the seinfeld theme?

I started playing bass 8 months ago because of the seinfeld theme song. but does anybody know what bass the musician used? it sounds absolutely incredible, maybe too good for a 'real' bass. thanks guys

It is a synth. Sorry to let you down, but try it out on bass see how close you can get yours to sound.

damn!!

i can get it to sound fairly close though. i found it was the best excersise for slapping and popping.

A guy named Jonathon Wolff was the composer and musician on that track. He's also done the work on Caroline In The City, Married With Children, Who's The Boss, and Will & Grace among others.

I was listening to that the other day, already knowing it was keyboard, it really doesn't sound authentic when you are aware. Those crazy people trying to fake the funk.
