What Car/Transport for Bass Players (UK/Europe)...

Double-the-bass posted a thread in the double bass forum asking what transport, vehicle wise do you use to get your gear about.

Great question and thought i would post it here too.
Im 29 and about to pass my test (it was mortgage or learn to drive earlier in life) and wondering what car to get. Its going to be a second hand jobby, but im not picky.

I have my MM Stingray hardcase, a Laney Head, a Laney 4x10 and a Laney 1x15.....what would you suggest? And please no Van suggestions!

Also, what do you guys drive? Would be interesting to know!

I have to advise against mixing speakersizes in one car

I would look for a small wagon or something with a good size trunk. (boot)
If possible, during a test drive, take it home and check how easy or hard it is to get your gear in it.
You don't want a van, because you would end up hauling the whole bands gear around.
