What are cheaper to make basses or guitars!

I am just curious as to what is more expensive to make for big name companies like Fender , EB , etc. and also what is generally more expensive a custome bass or a custome guitar?

It's all dependent on what is involved. I'd say at this stage for any of those companies listed, that neither is really any more or less expensive...it's essentially a part list tally, and general assembly of said parts.

The price of the parts involved of course will vary a bit from piece to piece depending on what goes in (obviosly 3 pickups are a bit more expensive than one) but overall, between engineering efforts and production standards and time studies on processes involved, I bet the whole thing is pretty consistent.

i think for companies like fender, where i do believe most of their instruments are made by machines. they also make their own parts, so i'd say they all cost about the same...thats only a guess though
