The only real differences are in the quality of the cables and their longevity. In that regard Whirlwind and Monsters are the best. |

Cables are generally just hit or miss for me. Some last for years, others go for a couple of months then crap....

More opinions are welcome...please. |

I've never had to replace one so they're quite well made, especially when you consider their price.. http://www.8thstreet.com/product.asp...ory=Instrument |

That said, I can't tell the difference in a $50 and a $150 cable. As long as it's solid and made from quality wire you should be fine. |

Butch is a real nice guy, makes a real nice cable and doesn't try to sell you something you don't need. He'll tell the story straight when discussing what's important about different aspects of audio cables. He's a no nonscence kind of guy. I too have two Monster Cables I need to sell. They are fine, but they are 11' long and I need them longer than that. Oh yeah, they sound no better than any other decent cable.
Buy Bayou Audio Cables. You help out a nice guy who's not going to BS you, AND you get a top notch cable too! |

Unless you have some kind of recessed jack (and even there, it sometimes work--right-angle plugs fit into a strat, for example), right-angle plugs are more secure and just plain look better. |

If it costs $20 it's probably OK. If it costs $50+, it's overpriced, but most cables in that price range have unconditonal guarantees (replace for free). That'd be like Monster or Mogami.

Though the new Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cables are awesome.
