Question what do I need to boost the signal level from my bass to my amp?

My main bass has a pretty low output level and I'd like to increase the signal going into the head without changing tone. Is there any sort of product that can but put in between to boost the signal? Thanks for any help.

You are looking for a preamplifier.

Is there some problem with just turning the amp up louder?

i think either seymour duncan or DOD or sumthing makes this little red effect called a pickup booster. That or get a active preamp in your bass but thatll change the tone. THe pickup booster is designed for guitars, which are mostly passive, so im sure itd work for a passive bass the same.

Do you know what kind of bass and amp you have? That knowledge could help someone give you appropriate suggestions.
