Check out Alex Lifeson's club... The Orbit Room... Went by there about 12 years ago when I was in toronto on a kinda "late honeymoon" thing, but did not get to go into the club at the time... Maybe next time I get married, I will get to go in....

Casa Loma. I'd be interested to hear how it compares to old world castles.

CN tower is fun. The glass floor is a little freaky.

I had the most fun at the Second City. Make sure you go.

Yup, my Doc Martens can be like wearing ice skates. Not much traction from those soles.

As far as stores, here are my recommendations:

Club Bass is a MUST if you are able to get out to the Queensway. Also check out Capsule (921 Queen St. W), The 12th Fret (Danforth and Woodbine), or even Long & McQuade (Bloor & Ossington).

Also, if you want to see some good Canadian indie/alt rock, The Weakerthans are playing a free show at Nathan Phillips Square (bundle up!) tomorrow night.

PM me for more detailed directions if you need them.

I was at Capsule the other day. Nothing amazing except a fretless alembic.
Steve's Music is on the same street as Capsule. A few blocks down. They have a Lakland there for like...700 bucks. Plays like a dream.

Club Bass always has amazing stuff.
Long and McQuade is great too.

I also suggest the Rex. I don't know who's playing this month though.

I don't know if you made it out last night, but I was there and I thought The Weakerthans sounded tight. Apparently they have a good rep for solid live performances.

Check out the Rex, my teacher and his trio play there quite often.
