What do you sit on when you practice?

As the title says, What do you sit on when you practice. I'm asking because I find sitting on my bed gives me back ache. Should I stand instead?

My butt.

Seriously, I'm either sitting on a wooden stool or an office chair without arms.

Comfortable office chair, no arms. Arms suck.

At home I used a stool type thing. IN the dorms I just use a armless chair. I tried playing of the bed, but it was so uncomfortable.

Rocking chair (pun not intended... well, sort of).

Preferably without arms, my bass has enough dings in it.

I bought this stool from Musician's Friend that has a back to it. I originally bought it because it can adjust from being a chair (which I use in theatre pits) to a stool that I can sit on when playing my upright.

When I'm doing some serious woodshedding, trying to learn a song, especially in a short amount of time,I ALWAYS stand when I'm learning my parts.
I've practiced a song before, sitting down that had a couple of difficult passages. When it came time to play it on stage,I couldn't!!Why??I learned the song w/the bass in a completely different position. So,if I'm practicing serious,I stand. If I'm just screwin' around,I'll sit on my couch and noodle while I watch TV,playing along to commercials and such,a good way to improve your ear, too,I might add.Drives the old lady NUTS!!!

I was gonna say " my ass" but some wiesenhiemer beat me to it

I spend at least 3 hours a day practicing, half the time I'm standing, but I do sit down, I have a nice office chair and a tall wooden barstool in my art/music/media studio. I pulled the arms off of it, and it is extremely comfortable to play in.

Kinda expensive, but well worth it.

P.S., yes this joke is very funny.

Some people probably need to sit on this while practicing:

Office chair that I took the arms off of. But I really should be trying to stand up more...
