As the title says, What do you sit on when you practice. I'm asking because I find sitting on my bed gives me back ache. Should I stand instead? |

Seriously, I'm either sitting on a wooden stool or an office chair without arms.

Preferably without arms, my bass has enough dings in it. |

I originally bought it because it can adjust from being a chair (which I use in theatre pits) to a stool that I can sit on when playing my upright. |

I've practiced a song before, sitting down that had a couple of difficult passages. When it came time to play it on stage,I couldn't!!Why??I learned the song w/the bass in a completely different position. So,if I'm practicing serious,I stand. If I'm just screwin' around,I'll sit on my couch and noodle while I watch TV,playing along to commercials and such,a good way to improve your ear, too,I might add.Drives the old lady NUTS!!! |

I spend at least 3 hours a day practicing, half the time I'm standing, but I do sit down, I have a nice office chair and a tall wooden barstool in my art/music/media studio. I pulled the arms off of it, and it is extremely comfortable to play in.
