What do you want people to say about you?

As a bass player/bassist/musician, I mean. I'm shooting for *pretty funky for an old white guy*

Learns the stuff, shows up on time and doesn't get loaded.

Theyre already saying it.

Where does one go from there?

I'm glad he won the MegaMillions and I hope he enjoys living in Paris.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

Mostly what I hear from people are the words "solid" and "you're really easy to play with" (usually from drummers), and "when you're on the gig we know we don't have to worry about the bass."

Not real gushy stuff I know but that's about the best any bassist can hope to hear (in this market anyway) so I'll take it. And I keep getting hired so that means more to me than what people say.

I'd like to hear, "he's the only guy I know that makes Hugh Hefner jealous!"

I prefer a more physical response. Dancing, toe tapping, and head banging are all acceptable.

That's the guy my wife fantasizes about when we are having sex. I have such mixed emotions about it, i mean, I'd like to punch his lights out from jealousy, but I'm enjoying the things she is willing to do now that she wouldn't before.

Yes, he is the bass player and yes, that model is his wife and he doubles on sax!

<well, at least one out of the three is true>

"Man, I have no idea how he can play so well with such a huge penis. I mean, that is staggeringly impressive!"

"At first I didn't believe it, but it's true! He's like Jaco, sans the nasty attitude! I have no problem humbling myself to become his Roadie and most loyal admirer. If only I could be as cool and talented as he is...
