| | | | What does "greasy" mean in terms of music I tired to find the answer on the net. I've seen Grease bands, ads for rock n greasy blues and even articles discussing greasy licks. I'm not sure I understand what it means.
Does it mean playing up and down the neck?
If you know what it means and have some examples fire away. Much appreciated.

I could be wrong though.

To me "greasy" in this context means playing that is really down & dirty or gritty, if you will.

Here is my amateurish attempt at it. It is a feel that fits certain tunes more than others. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-MCr...sKdl6AxUP3p-k=
IMO. There are surely better examples.
