That was one band that fell off the face of the Earth rather quickly. Are they even around anymore, doing those quality artistic Burger King commercials?

They're actually still touring and playing out. They were/are at Ravinia (outdoor theater, North side) in Chicago this summer...if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, great. In a band i used to be in we played 'Let Her Cry' and 'Hold My Hand'. Interesting bass lines in both songs.

I ran across one of their songs on the radio the other day, that's why I brought it up. I remember how big they got, and it's kind of strange how they kind of fell out of the spotlight so fast.

They were a mediocre band that appealed to a mediocre croud. It was bland pop rock that had no new and distinct sound of their own. The band attracted the same thirty-year-old people who watched "Friends" every week. It just got old real quickly.

That was a bit harsh, A band doesn't have to be completey new and original to be a cool band also friends had its moments too.

I guess it was a bit harsh, but they always seemed to be potential elevator music to me. Not interesting, but not completely lame either. Just there.

And you can only vary your songs so much when your singer has a one octave range.

Someone just won an opening gig with them on Friday. It was a Detroit city talent show and that was the grand prize.

Oh and aren't those 30 somethings now 40 somethings?

I guess that's what makes the world go around! Musically they really weren't my thing either. And just think, I too was going to mock them for having sales in the millions, several hits, instant sound recognition, and royalty dollars that per year, add up to more than 99% of the people on TB will make collectively. I wasn't a fan by any stretch, but I would have traded places with them in a heartbeat. And you probably aren't being honest if you say you wouldn't. I forgot who said it, but it always puts things in perspective- "If you're a has been, than at least you were there." Just think, everytime you get in the elevator and hear one of their tunes, Muzak is paying them$$$$$!! We should all be so lucky.

I''d really like to be a has-been. Instead I'm an almost-was. That's not even close to as good.

Although it's very cool to hear somebody remembers us. The other day I was listening to a local college radio station, and they started playing something from a band we did several shows with, and were friends with. I called in to say how cool it was to hear Ten Hands* on the radio again. The DJ commented on how he used to always see them at Club Dada. I thought "Dada? I wonder..." so I asked if he ever saw Fuzzy Logic and he said "Oh yeah! Those guys were amazing. What ever happened to them?" When I told him I was the bassist singer from Fuzzy Logic he geeked on me for a minute. It was awesome. I got to feel like a rock star for a few minutes.

*Ten Hands were great. Their auxiliary percussionist, Mike Dillon, went on to form Billygoat and is now with Polyphonic Spree. Their drummer, Earl Harvin, is now with Seal. Their lead singer is back in graduate school but is the Sunday night DJ on KERA FM. I don't know what became of their guitarist and Stick player.

Jerry:

I wouldn't deny wanting to have been there, even for a short period. It would have been fun while it lasted. No doubt.

But thier music was just bland. I even thought it was a little catchy at the beginning. My wife bought me the CD. I listened to it once and never touched it again. Like the music, it's just there.
