What gauge git strings for a fat fingered basist

Sign in to disble this ad
Picked up a cheapo guitar with good action on it the other day. I am wondering what guage strings I would be more happy with. I realize that I am gonna get some finger tenderness regardless but I would be interested in some suggestions. My main interest is blues and I have one of those Squier '51's with the single in the neck and a humbucker at the bridge. Thanks for the help.

Do you want an easy bend or not? The thinner the string, the easier the bend.

Standard gauges are .10 and .11, I used to play with .10, .11 is a bit heavier. I don't think the thickness of your fingers can be "corrected" by using certain strings, it will all be terrible small anyway

El-P Tuned Mass Damper
