Digging the new Rush album this much later, as well as discovering a Norwegian prog band called Ritual which sounds like Yes+Rush+Jethro Tull. Interesting stuff. |

A few days ago I discovered Gary Clark, Jr. and he is awesome. And for the past few minutes I've been listening to Dead Meadow because someone posted about them in this very thread and it sounded interesting. I like it.

Repeatedly listening to:
Galactic "Coolin Off" and "Live After Midnight"
Govt Mule "The Deep End Vol 2"
Homebrew "Fourth and Long" and "Last One Standing"
Must admit that I have been learning Homebrew songs for the last year in order to play bass in the band's CD release party. The band's founding bassist, Alan Hodde, passed away prior to finishing the latest CD. He was an excellent musician and his parts have been really instructive for my bass vocabulary... |

One of the best things I've heard in a long time. Taste is paramount, then a boat-load of chops, and finally the best pedal board on TB Effects put to good use in the service of the compositions. Even my wife digs this disc, and she's a tough critic. | Thank you (and your wife) for listening! Glad you are digging it. |

| | Still making a joyful noise! | | Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Western Washington | | | Just joined an established band, so... I'm getting up to speed listening to quite a bit of classic and contemporary country, along with some '50s and '60s Rock & Roll. Quite a departure from the Contemporary Christian music I've been focusing on for the past almost 20 years (I'm still doing my worship team stuff, too).
But RIGHT NOW I'm getting into some Grand Funk Railroad, the band that first sparked my interest in the bass back in the early '70s.
