I took classical piano lessons for 10 years. Obviously I'm much better at playing the keys than the bass. But playing the bass is the most fun.

I can still throw down on one but I think like a bassist now so my whole train of thought is geared toward roots and rhythm.

I took classical piano lessons for about 5 years and I'm sorry to say I still suck on keys. In fact, it was just about like that classic bass joke. Nobody EVER paid money to hear me play keys. But honest to god, I bought this old upright bass it was just about like joke about the kid with the three lessons who then blows them off because he has a gig! Same thing went for my drum playing (dad played drums so lessons were kind of built-in).
There was a time when I was a better drummer than bassist, but now I think the opposite is true. |

| | | | i played alto sax from 4th-9th grade, switched to percussion 9th-11th (marching and concert) quit my senior year because we got a new director, and he sucked balls. so another percussionist, my girlfriend at the time (flagline) and i drove down to the open audition fro the Baltimore Ravens marching band. did the audition and made the cut! my friend marched snare and i marched sextuplets for 3 years. gf made the color gaurd. it was awesome!!! |
