I'm looking to buy a nice strap that will last me a very long time. I'm willing to put up good money for one, less than $100. If you could, just name some brands or post links of the ones you like. Thanks guys! |

I have been using the Comfort Strap $ 35.00 ...for many years.
The padding helps...especially if you are standing on a hard wood floor for three sets with a 9 lb bass strapped around your neck...but for $ 100.00 you can get a really high quality strap. |

Unless of course you play metal. |

I prefer the narrower ones. They are doing a twofer sale right now so you get them for 35 each. Very nice handmade stuff.
Made in USA.
Mine are great quality. If you use straplocks be sure to note so on your order to have them cut to fit that.

Lee Sklar, Brian Bromberg and Chuck Rainey endorse them. www.eyelandenterprises.com |

Only $30, very comfortable and IMO helps reduce fatigue during long gigs.

| | | | I'm digging my monocase Betty straps for bass. I have an Eyeland strap for my guitar that I love. I have some Italia straps, but they're very thick and tough to use because of that. |

| | | | A nice wide one. They seem to distribute weight better, and reduce that cutting into your shoulder feeling. I dont think padding helps much if you have a wide strap (ie more than 4" or wide enough to span from over that bone on the outside of your shoulder to just about where your neck starts, without it all cutting into your neck). IMO padding is good to soften something that may be cutting into your shoulder, but if you go wide you eliminate that phenomena completely. I like leather becasue they look nice and they wear well, though they tend to be a bit pricey. |

| | | | Not to hijack this, but anyone know a decent strap that is really long? Like 6 feet or so? |

| | | | Simple mate, buy what you wanna buy.
A strap is a strap im my eyes and its an essential piece of kit,you couldnt cope without one.
In my limited experience though, i found levy straps to be rather nice, also i prefer 2in wide one as opposed to the wider ones as i feel more comfortable wearing these |

I did have one of the Neotech straps later, but it's way too bouncy for me, and not as comfy for a long gig as the Comfort Strapps. The Levy's are nice for guitar (I've got three of 'em), but not for bass.
