What level too be a Bass teacher

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been playing the bass off and on for many years. I am a weekend warrior. I can play certain things well, but, since I dont dwell on certain aspects I dont to them as well as others. I understand theory on a solid level, enough to teach beginers, or maybe a little higher level. I coulde not provide anything of higher knowledge to a Berklee grad, Doc Bop, or a someone who is trying to get higher Jazz level. With that in mind would that be enough of a foundation to teach bass at a small town locol level, or begininers. What is the level in that realm ? Would love some feedback on this. I would love to teach, but dont know my mesuraing bar/stick.

Can you read music at all? Most parents are looking for a teacher that will teach their kids to read. I had Jazz guitar player as a bass teacher and told him I could care less about reading and learning Three Blind Mice and wanted to learn technique upfront.
