What lives in your gig bag? Besides my bass, strap, tuner and cable I like to keep gum and a book. It's nice to have fresh breath at a gig, as well as something to pass the time in the event that I'm sitting around waiting during sound check... Anything 'extra' that you like to take along in your gig bag? |
Just a bass. But a carry a separate gear box with more crap in it than I will ever need. I even carry extra guitar strings and picks and I don't use them. It weighs about 50 pounds. |
Strings, string winder and wire cutters. That's pretty much it if I'm in town. Fly dates? Laptop, iPod, headphones usually. |
A family of possums...I call the big one "Bitey" |
Mmm...possum pie!! |
Two or more of everything I could ever need is outside in the trailer, so I usually just bring what I need inside. I have no gig bag, but an extra cable and some strings and what all reside in the compartment of my case. |
Four cables, two straps, 2 sets of in ear monitors, tuner, pegwinder/ clippers, extra strings, ipad, tools, mints. |
I'm not exactly sure. There are mice in the practice space and I'm always expecting to find one of them when I go looking for that phillips head screwdriver or whatever. |
bacteria. you ever try to wash a gig bag? |
A rag, pencils. a couple of picks and a clip on tuner for back up |
My GK MB200, 2 guitar cords and a tuner. |
Extra strings, earplugs, usually an extra battery or two, something to right on and with, a few tools, Iburofen, and sometimes I find old set lists in there.... |
I keep a tuner, extra set of strings, a speed winder, Alan wrench, small screw driver, cable, strap, picks, soft felt cloth, pen. I probably should add ear plugs and ibuprofen. I like that idea. |
quite a bit now that I think about it. I got tired of being on the gig and wishing I had something, and bringing a huge toolbox would just be an extra something in my hand: FEA Compressor + power adapter (I use it on every gig and most practices) 3 Cables (between 12' - 20'): 2 for the pedal and a backup 2 patch cables Tiny music notepad 8 pack of Duracell 9V's that I got cheap the other day Nail clipper Ear plugs tiny case of picks hex wrench set trussrod adjuster String cutter StewMac action gauge and 12" radius gauge Batt-o-Meter Clip-on tuner for the quick fixes iphone Peterson adapter for the iStrobosoft app for precise tuning Multi head Screwdriver Sometimes a pack of strings A pencil once I don't forget it at the gig Wow didn't realise it was THAT much...used to have a Earwig headphone amp in there too but that stopped working recently. Did I mention the Sadowsky Portabag is awesome? :D |
In my gig bag, two cables, a tuner, Comfort Strap and two basses (it's a double bag). In my Bagalini, a whole buncha crap....drum machine, another tuner, Ipod with charger, extra batteries, phone charger, usb cable, whatever book I'm reading. Jeez, it really is a purse! |
Partially eaten granola bar Pocket knife Somebody's car keys (not mine) Some beer caps Popsicle sticks Electrical tape Empty 40 cal bullet shells 1 sock |
Tuner Flashlight Music stand light Adapter cords and plug adapters Guitar cord & strap Cleaning cloth for bass Batteries Spare power cord Spare speaker cord Set of strings Music, extra paper, pen Tool pouch (hex keys, screwdriver, ruler, needle-nose pliers) Seem like a lot, but it's really not. NOTE: The only thing I haven't needed or used at a gig is the extra strings. |
Some good ideas... I've heard of guys carrying stuff in case guitar players need extra strings, or a drum key since drummers are always needing them. |
Tuner Pocket knife Gaffer tape Patch leads Notepad Pen Screwdriver Allen keys Rag Lint-free rag Spare strap Spare new strings Spare old strings Spare instrument lead Spare speaker cord, plus 1/4" to Speakon adaptor Picks Preamp/DI box EQ pedal Spare power cord Spare XLR lead I also bring a backup bass with its own set of spare strings. So...basically everything, including the right gear to cover me if my amp blows or if I have to use a crappy amp belonging to someone else. If I think of anything else, I'll edit this post. :) |
all of the above as well as xtra big clothes pegs to secure music to stand on windy outdoor gigs.oh and a power board. |
