What music will be played at your funeral?

Pretty much self-explanatory.
If you want music played at your funeral what would it be?
Have you thought about it?
I'm just a little curious

don't really care, since i'll be dead... but I don't want anything religious or sentimental... they can choose a track at random from my ipod for all I care

While I'm another one that will be too dead to care, I suppose it would be nice for the living attendees to hear some Thelonious Monk while thinking about me.

I think i might answer my own question!

For me it would have to be something live and improvised by a musician who knew me. So it would have meaning. It would be cool if it could be recorded and then sold and any proceeds going to my family

Some death metal. I mean, I'm dead, so that's really hitting people on two levels, there.

That, and causing visible discomfort is always a bonus.

Are you going to put in your will "I want a mush pit at my funeral"?

Either death metal, or the Benny Hill "fast" music.

You know what i want. If all musicians and people i knew that were my friends and/or family played a piece or sung song they liked at my funeral. Just everyone i knew and loved who was a musician or just wanted to do it would come up and just play or sung something they want. It would be cool when my life is over i would leave people with a reminder that even though bad things happen, there is still a lot of good and beauty in this world.

PS, god, if i wrote this, i must be stoned...

I don't know. Probably something off Rush's "Hold Your Fire" album and to conclude things, "Escape" by Jonas Hellborg. Escape is very much an uplifting piece with a certain feeling of elation to it. Thats how I want my exit to be!

Since there's no mention of Cliff, we can only assume that an imposter is posting as Chris2112. Call Security!

And now from the YouTube archives, a big American hit for Mr. Richard (way back):

A song from my old band called "Next Time". Our singer wrote it for his dad who had just passed away.

My Way - Frank Sinatra. And then I want everybody to have a good cry and get drunk off their asses. I know how stressful funerals can be, so I figure they deserve a break.
