What is OLP

Hi

I was looking at basses on Ebay and came across some basses called OLP. They look like Ernie Ball basses. Are these copies of EB or MM and are they any good.

Plus, they are adequate basses if you set them up and maybe put better electronics in them. I knew a cat who used them for his regular night-club bass, since those basses take abuse from the rhinestones on his costume and he figured he could replace them (the basses) cheaply enough.

In late 2007 the contract between Ernie Ball and OLP concluded. Ernie Ball chose at that time not to renew it which meant that OLP could no longer make copies of Ernie Ball instruments.

Ernie Ball's replacement for the OLP products are the Sterling by Music Man instruments which are made by the Park family in Indonnesia. These are far superior instruments to what OLP made.
